Purpose or role of position within the organization: The Office Assistant will support the daily operations of the residence hall communities by offering after-hours access to community resources like games, lockouts, billiards (pool) equipment, etc.

Duties and responsibilities associated with the position and how they relate to the purpose/role:

  • Time Management: ability to balance academic responsibilities, extra-curricular activities, and student employment. Ability to make project deadlines.

  • Critical Thinking: ability to make educated, well-informed decisions and asking for guidance when necessary.

  • Resource and Referral: ability to connect students to professional staff and community partners when unable to confidently answer questions and concerns.

  • Self- Driven: ability to start and complete tasks with minimal guidance. The Ambassador position will require a successful candidate to initiate projects independently.

  • Positive Outlook: ability to clearly articulate positive messages regarding Residence Life, and community partners, and AIC as a whole.
