POSITION PURPOSE

The Physical Therapy Student Ambassador will support graduate admissions staff in a variety of roles, including entry of documents, preparing for Open Houses, prospective student inquiry follow-up and potentially serving as a tour guide for incoming graduate students.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Verbal and written communication with prospective students
  • Manage incoming and outgoing phone calls with perspective physical therapy students; sharing your experiences within the program as well as relaying admissions standards to students.
  • Working with the physical therapy admissions counselor to create admissions events and materials for prospective physical therapy students.
  • Support graduate admissions at open houses and general information sessions

JOB DESCRIPTION

Student Ambassador duties include engaging in frequent written and verbal communication with prospective students. In this effort, Student Ambassadors may make phone calls on weekday evenings (Monday through Friday), and conduct scheduled tours each week. Further, Student Ambassadors will be expected to assist with campus events which may include scheduled events for the Office of Graduate Admissions when necessary. Other duties will include performing clerical input/mailings, training future Student Ambassadors, asking and answering questions, referring questions to appropriate admissions counselors or departments, responding to inquiries sent to the graduate admissions email account, and ensuring the accuracy of information being put forth on behalf of the College.

The physical therapy student ambassador will work primarily with prospective physical therapy students; however, they may be asked to work with other prospective graduate students as appropriate.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates who would excel in this role will have a high attention to detail, be able to communicate efficiently and effectively with a variety of individuals, have an affinity to AIC and an interest in higher education offerings.

Candidates must be junior or senior in the physical therapy program, in good academic standing within the DPT program. All interested candidates must have the approval and endorsement of the director of the physical therapy department prior to being hired for this role.

Employment within this role is contingent on a student maintaining good standing. Withdrawing from the physical therapy program or failure to progress in good standing will result in immediate removal from this position.
