Internship Summary: Hartford Athletic intern will have the opportunity to learn about the Club’s culture and vision, understanding the importance of a systemic approach to the strategic planning and daily actions, which includes every area of the club, marketing, ticketing, media, operations, public relations and the technical department.

Position Summary: The Hartford Athletic Sports Science Intern will learn and assist the coaching staff to optimize the operational efficiency through training periodization/planning, load management and data analysis. The Fitness Coach will oversee and guide intern’s actions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Learn and assist with data collection, management and reporting; Assist the Fitness Coach to plan and lead sessions in the gym, on the field and any additional team-related activities as necessary according to a season, monthly and weekly plan; Learn, assist and lead individual session for players; Assist Fitness Coach during game preparation; Assist Fitness Coach in assessing players and building individual plans; Assist other members of Staff whenever needed; Assists with the maintenance of inventory, equipment and supplies. Perform routine maintenance as needed; Reinforce club’s values, Team's Rules and USL's Rules by actions; Other duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary by the Club.

Desired Qualifications: Knowledge regarding Sports Training, in-depth understanding for the sport of soccer is preferred; Computer proficient in Microsoft Office Package (Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint) and iWork (Pages, KeyNote, Numbers) to manage data, produce reports and presentations. Maintain highest level of professionalism and confidentiality within a pro-team environment is required. Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, proactive and have a strong sense of accountability. Perform strenuous physical duties, including carrying heavy equipment. Ability to work 20-25 hours per week, including non-traditional hours in non-traditional settings, including holidays, nights and weekends. Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program and eligible for college credit. We do accept volunteers; please respond if you are interested in a volunteer opportunity. Other Details: Internship is unpaid. Applicant must have valid driver license/reliable method of transportation. Start/End Date can be discussed upon time of interview.
