Instructional Technologists assist the staff of Academic Computing in supporting classroom and online technology, classes, and events on campus. The role also includes supervision and direction of work study students to fulfill the mission of the department.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Assist faculty with classroom technology
  • Assist faculty with the use of Blackboard and other online tools
  • Supervise work study students
  • Respond to phone calls, emails, and HelpDesk tickets
  • Circulate audio-visual equipment
  • Set up multimedia systems
  • Maintain the department calendar
  • Track inventory records (and other clerical tasks)

  • Duplicate and transfer media
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Video record lectures and campus events

General qualifications:

  • Customer service oriented, trustworthy, and reliable
  • Leadership and teamwork experience preferred
  • Capable of performing tasks independently with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Eager to learn about digital media and instructional technology
  • Familiarity with computers, the internet, Microsoft Office, and creative software (Adobe suite, e.g.)
